Hi everyone! My name is Zahra Zareh and I am a grade 11 student at East York Collegiate Institute.
I joined the TED-Ed club to explore and learn about our faith and its connections to our life. I didn’t know about Encounters TEd-Ed club until I transitioned to grade 11 and my parents explained the aspects of the program. I thought it would be like the normal classes, however, I found it interesting along the way. Throughout the program, I am learning how to research and write my Student Talk. Right now, I am researching artificial intelligence and how it can connect to ethics. For instance, I am interested in education equality and climate change. Therefore, I use my research to understand how artificial intelligence (AI) can provide more education accessibility and reduce the effects of climate change. Specifically, I will dive into the differences between the negative and positive impacts of AI on humanity. Additionally, I joined the conference team as part of the Community Engagement Portfolio to support the conference, experience leadership in my community and network with other youths across the country. Overall, I believe that the TED-Ed club will have a life-long impact on my learning and networking with others.
