TEDEd has been an extremely enriching experience for me. Almost every class challenged my perspectives and helped me to view the world around me in new ways. The process of making a student talk has pushed me immensely to cultivate some crucial interpersonal skills. Throughout the process of creating a talk, I needed to make sure that the talk was audience centered, and I realized how much I need to implement this concept not only in my talk but also in my day to day communication and networking skills.
Another important concept that I needed to keep in mind at all times was that I had to give my audience a reason to care, I needed to make the talk relatable, which has again helped me strengthen my communication skills in life, since I started using this concept in my writing assignments, my essays sound way more interesting.
I was also repeatedly pushed to make sure that my idea is worth sharing, which has also helped me understand that I need to be mindful of what I am saying not only in the talk but also in my life, and reflect if it’s truly necessary and polite.
Overall, it has been an amazing experience to work with really passionate peers, and share ideas! Looking forward to the conference!
