Ahmad Devji asks the question, what’s the purpose of life? He asked around what others thought their purpose in life was and their answers helped inspire his curiosity. As he kept on researching, he stumbled across a quote from Aristotle. “where talents and the needs of the world cross, therein lies your vocations”. This quote helped him try to find an answer to his question.

So, what role do talent and passion play in your life? To help us understand, he uses examples of the Da’I’s, which is from Muslim history. one of the examples he uses is Hasan-I Sabbah. The community of Hasan-I Sabbah were refugees and were in need of a place to stay., so he found a place called the fort of Alamut. He knew his people needed help so Hasan-I Sabbah used his passion for social justice and his purpose to help his community. He made a “safe haven and a model to find the state”. The more Ahmad looked into this, the more he realized the question he had to ask was “who am I? asking that question can help you understand more on how to find your passion which can help you find your purpose in life.
